Hellkern Warriors are an international Gothic Rock / Dark Rock band formed in 2025, bringing together musicians from Germany, Italy, and Colombia. Their single "Rain, Steam and Speed" takes inspiration from J. M. W. Turner's famous 1844 painting and explores themes of movement, technology, progress, uncertainty, and human emotion.

The song creates an atmosphere of constant forward motion and tension, comparable to an approaching urban storm. Thunder serves as a recurring motif, symbolizing emotional instability and a charged environment. Rather than portraying a natural storm, the band uses this imagery to reflect the complexities of modern life.

Lyrically, the track addresses feelings of restlessness, alienation, and the relentless pace of contemporary society. The musicians draw parallels between the Industrial Revolution of Turner's era and today's technological transformation, including the opportunities and challenges created by artificial intelligence. The band emphasizes that their use of AI-related imagery is not an expression of blind technological enthusiasm but part of a critical artistic discussion about its ambiguities and consequences.

Musically and conceptually, Hellkern Warriors cite influences such as Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Borknagar, and The Cure. Their goal was to make movement, decay, and stillness audible at the same time, creating a soundtrack for a futuristic, neon-lit urban landscape.

The band has also gained international exposure through the compilation album "The Pulse in the Void, Vol. 1", alongside several other international artists from the Gothic and Alternative Rock scene.

The article concludes that the band's multicultural composition and diverse musical backgrounds contribute to a distinctive and convincing artistic identity.

Voice In The Void

INTRO: "Hellkern Warriors are not a band born from one rehearsal room, one city, or one local scene. They are a cross-continental creative force moving between Berlin, Pietrasanta, and Ibagué — Germany, Italy, and Colombia — shaped through distance, digital exchange, underground histories, and a shared instinct for atmosphere, tension, and cinematic sound.

The project began in early 2025, when Kabal Apokalypse / Dylan Phoenix reached out to Mauricio Castro with the idea of forming a new musical vision. That first conversation opened the door, but the spark arrived when Tom Radar introduced the early song ideas for “Helkern Warriors,” “Petrol & Water,” and “Endless Road.” From those first demos, the band began to form its own identity: part shadow, part transmission, part emotional architecture.

What makes Hellkern Warriors especially interesting is the way each member brings a different creative history into the project. Tom Radar carries the voice, guitar, lyrics, and post-urban tension of Berlin. Kabal Apokalypse / Dylan Phoenix brings synth textures, composition, poetry, and long underground experience from Italy. Fabian Parra brings bass, guitar, weight, and musical precision from Ibagué, Colombia. Mauricio Castro brings drums, production, mixing, sound engineering, and the studio foundation through Artgot Studios. Together, these elements do not cancel each other out. They collide, connect, and become part of the same pulse.

At the centre of the project is the phrase “The Pulse of the Void” — a concept that Hellkern Warriors describe as movement and emotion inside emptiness, silence, isolation, and vast space. It is not simply a slogan. It has become a creative framework for the music, the film clips, the visual identity, and the international compilation The Pulse in the Void, Vol. 1.

Their songs move through urban decay, night movement, industrial landscapes, personal imagination, and fragments of memory. Their film clips extend the songs into visual spaces where image, shadow, motion, and atmosphere become part of the music itself. Hellkern Warriors are building more than isolated tracks. They are building a world.

In this written interview for Infectious Unease Radio / Subterranean Zone Radio — Voice In The Void, Hellkern Warriors speak about how the members first connected, how the project developed across distance, how their songs and film clips take shape, how the compilation came together, and where the band may move next.

This is a conversation about remote creation, underground connection, digital-era collaboration, and the strange life that can emerge when sound travels through the void."

I prefer to stay on the more hidden path, lurk in the shadows of the aural pleasure. Welcome to the journey into sound."

"Hellkern Warriors are a cross-continental darkwave outfit founded this year. Uniting musicians from Italy, Germany, and Colombia, the project also veers into gothic rock territory - beautifully showcased on the band's latest single, Helkern Warriors. Cinematic and darkly atmospheric, it's a striking piece of music that refuses to leave my head.

Wanting to know more about the artists and the sonic world they're building, I was thrilled when band member Tom Radar said he'd have a chat with us.

Going through some of the band's biggest musical inspirations, how they navigate the balance between staying true to their vision and adapting to changing trends in the music industry, and what comes next for Hellkern Warriors, please welcome our new friend, Tom Radar!

...Who are some of the band's biggest musical inspirations?

.... And, if you could collectively "steal" one song in the world and claim it as your own, what would it be and why?"
