The Story of Hellkern Warriors
The story of Hellkern Warriors began in early 2025, when Kabal / Dylan Phoenix from Pietrasanta, Italy, and Mauricio Castro from Ibagué, Colombia, began shaping the idea of a new dark and atmospheric musical project. What started as a creative exchange soon evolved into an international collaboration, bringing together musicians from Pietrasanta, Berlin and Ibagué — each contributing a different musical background to the emerging sound of Hellkern Warriors.
In June 2025, Tom Radar brought a series of original song ideas to the project, including “Hellkern Warriors”, “Petrol & Water” and “Endless Road”. To capture the atmosphere and emotional direction he had in mind, Tom recorded early demo versions of the songs, including his own vocals and guitar.
These recordings became the foundation for what would become Hellkern Warriors. Kabal / Dylan Phoenix, Mauricio Castro and Fabian Parra brought their own musical experience and creative ideas into the developing material, while Tom continued to shape the songs through his vocals, lyrics and guitar. Their different backgrounds and approaches gradually transformed the first raw demos into the broader, darker and more dynamic sound that would define Hellkern Warriors.
The music evolved around haunting vocals, dark guitar textures, pulsing bass, atmospheric synthesizers and powerful drums. Rather than following a single genre, Hellkern Warriors began to explore the space between Gothic Rock, Darkwave, Post-Punk, Alternative Rock and Industrial music.
From this combination of different backgrounds and influences, the identity of Hellkern Warriors emerged: dark, emotional and cinematic, but still driven by the energy of a rock band.
The Pulse of the Void
“Endless Road” became one of the foundation stones of the project and the beginning of a larger artistic concept that the band calls:
“The Pulse of the Void.”
The concept represents the atmosphere at the heart of Hellkern Warriors — the tension between human emotion and an increasingly cold, uncertain and fragmented world. Their songs explore themes of inner struggle, alienation, fear, lost futures, decay and the darker sides of human existence.
The band does not see darkness as an end, but as a space in which emotions, ideas and sounds can take on another form.
The Meaning Behind the Name
The name “Hellkern” was inspired by the computer virus Helkern — an unseen force capable of spreading silently through digital networks. Combined with “Warriors”, the name became a metaphor for an invisible battle taking place beneath the surface of modern life.
For the band, it represents something hidden yet powerful: forces that cannot always be seen, but can still shape the world around us.
The Members – 2026
Hellkern Warriors are currently composed of three musicians, bringing together their individual experience and musical backgrounds from Berlin, Germany, and Ibagué, Colombia.
Tom Radar – Berlin, Germany
Vocals, Lyrics, Guitar
Tom Radar is the vocalist, lyricist and guitarist of Hellkern Warriors and the founder of the Berlin-based Darkwave project RADARFIELD. His songwriting combines darkwave atmospheres, melodic guitar work and emotionally driven vocals. Within Hellkern Warriors, Tom is responsible for the lyrics, vocals, guitar and the central artistic direction of the project.
Fabian Parra – Ibagué, Colombia
Bass
Fabian Parra brings more than two decades of experience in extreme and alternative metal to Hellkern Warriors. His background includes bands such as Ghoulish Pain and Lemarchand. His bass playing adds weight, movement and a darker rhythmic foundation to the band's sound.
Mauricio Castro – Ibagué, Colombia
Drums, Synths, Mixing & Production
Mauricio Castro is a musician, composer, arranger and producer with more than 20 years of experience in the Colombian music scene. He is the founder and drummer of Impromtus ad Mortem and Lemarchand, as well as the founder and sound engineer of Artgot Studios. Within Hellkern Warriors, Mauricio contributes drums, synthesizers, mixing and production.
An International Collaboration
Hellkern Warriors bring together musicians from Berlin, Germany, and Ibagué, Colombia, combining different musical backgrounds and cultural perspectives across continents.
The project has developed independently through remote collaboration, with ideas, recordings and production travelling between Europe and South America. This distance has become part of the band's identity rather than a limitation.
The result is a sound that connects the atmosphere of European Gothic and Darkwave with the intensity and musical backgrounds of the Colombian underground scene.
The Journey Continues
Since their formation in 2025, Hellkern Warriors have continued to develop their sound and expand their catalogue, combining new songwriting with cinematic production and a growing visual identity.
The project has already received international radio airplay and attention across Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Greece, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Singapore, the USA, Canada and Australia.
But the journey is only beginning.
Hellkern Warriors continue to explore the shadows between rock and electronic music — creating soundscapes where darkness, emotion and energy collide.

International Recognition & Creative Vision
Hellkern Warriors have developed an international presence within the darkwave, gothic and alternative music scene, combining cinematic soundscapes with elements of Post-Punk, Gothic Rock, Darkwave and Alternative music. Defined by their cross-continental collaboration, the band creates immersive and emotionally charged compositions that fuse dark electronic textures, atmospheric guitars, powerful rhythms and cinematic storytelling.
Their releases have received attention from music press and independent media across Europe, North America and beyond. Publications including ORKUS! (GER), Rock Era Magazine (USA), Obscure Sound (USA), Lost in the Manor (UK), Indie Dock Music Blog (UK) and Edgar Allan Poets (USA) have highlighted different aspects of the band's sound, from hypnotic rhythms and cinematic depth to its haunting atmosphere and fusion of Gothic Rock with modern electronic production.
Hellkern Warriors have also received international radio airplay and coverage from numerous independent radio stations, magazines, blogs and music platforms. Their growing presence in the underground scene reflects a distinctive artistic identity built around atmosphere, emotional intensity and a strong visual and thematic concept.
A central part of this artistic identity is “The Pulse of the Void” — a concept that connects the band's music, imagery and storytelling. It reflects the band's fascination with the tension between human emotion, technology, isolation, decay and an uncertain future.
The Pulse in the Void – Vol. 1
Beyond their own releases, Hellkern Warriors also took on the role of curators and organizers of the international compilation “The Pulse in the Void, Vol. 1”, released on April 16, 2026.
The compilation brings together artists from different corners of the international Gothic, Darkwave, Post-Punk and Alternative scene, including Scheitan, Reptyle, Blood Dance, Gary Robert and Community, Cathedral in Flames, SENEX IV, La Scaltra, Dark Side Cowboys, Robots In Love, Last Dusk, SPIRYT, Whispers in the Shadows and Hellkern Warriors.
Featuring a diverse spectrum of melancholic vocals, driving guitars, dark electronic textures and atmospheric soundscapes, the compilation extends the idea behind “The Pulse of the Void” beyond Hellkern Warriors themselves. It represents the band's desire to connect artists, sounds and audiences across the international dark music community.
Media & Interviews
Through interviews and features with international media, including Illustrate Magazine and Rock-Garage, Hellkern Warriors have shared insights into their creative process, musical influences and the collaborative nature of the project.
Their musical influences reach from the classic Gothic and Post-Punk tradition to darker forms of Alternative and electronic music. Artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, The Cure, Fields of the Nephilim, Depeche Mode, David Bowie and Type O Negative have all contributed to the broader musical landscape that inspires the band.
